SXSWclick is proud to announce this year's
Jury and Popularity Contest winners. The winner of the Popularity Contest Award, Playing Chicken, indicates a strong audience preference for the narrative form. Go to the official SXSWclick website to view them all.
One of the most asked questions is "How can my band/film/website get recognized as an official part of SXSW?". The first step is to make sure you submit your work for consideration during the appropriate application (sometimes called "submission") period. You should also stop by the website in August for detailed information on applying for Festival consideration.
In order to stay best informed, sign up for the appropriate email list and you will get monthly (or so) notification of upcoming deadlines and info related to SXSW. You may also send an email to the Sales staff throughout the year with any questions you may have about marketing opportunities at SXSW.
While this year's SXSW is still fresh in your mind clear a space on your calendar for SXSW 2007. Here are the dates for next year's conferences and festivals:

Clifford Antone passed away on May 23. His devotion to the blues led to his history-making nightclub, store and label. Austin's music community feels this loss deeply. As a collaborator with SXSW through twenty years, Clifford's input and reputation led to many amazing, unforgettable showcases. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family.
The current Austin Chronicle features detailed remembrance of this strong supporter of the Blues and pioneer of the Austin music scene.

Submitting the Early Bird Hotel Request form will guarantee that you receive advance notification that the SXSW 2007 website is going live to receive Hotel Reservations and Conference Registrations (about August 2006). At that time all SXSW hotels will be available to all registrants at special SXSW discount rates. It will be your responsibility to submit your conference registration and hotel reservation at that time. Print out the 2007 Early Bird Hotel Request form and fax it to the SXSW Housing Desk at 512-452-4775.
