I/A Panel Podcasting Requests

h1 March 14th, 2006

I talked with the folks doing the panel podcasting and they said they would be interested in any feedback on which panels people would like to see posted. If you have any thoughts on the matter, post them here and they’ll keep an eye on the thread. I gave them my ideas, so give them yours….

  1. I have been evangelizing the “Creating Passionate Users” talk to everyone I know who couldn’t make it to SxSW. If there’s any way to make that audio available, that would mean the world to a lot of artists I know.

(Far less importantly, and for purely selfish reasons, I would love to see Monday’s “How Bloggers can Learn From Comics” talk podcasted. A lot of my readers had e-mailed me to see if it would be made available.)

And thank you so much for all the work put into the podcasts already posted!

  2. I’ve got to say, I realize this is a bit of a large request, I’d like to see all of the talks and panels posted for download. For each one I was able to go to, I was not able to attend 3 or 4 panels. It would be a wonderful service to the community and the attendees to be able to download and listen to all the talks we were not able to attend. I would also enjoy being able to re-listen to the ones I did attend as even the best note-taking won’t be as great as the actual talk itself.

  3. OK.

So, I am starting to establish a rep for complaining about everything from lines to Jason Kottke (who really is a bit of an absurd mystery who should go the way of the dodo)

    but, here’s what i think

we couldn’t get into the physical spaces where we wanted to see and hear the people from whom we wish to receive edification. or, at the very least, we could not be in the rooms to hear the sessions we paid for.

so, why can’t you make it all available to those of us who paid?

why can’t you let us listen to a podcast of the session we really wanted to attend but could not physically fit into because the rooms (with ALL seats full) were too small. Damn you room 15 with you confining space! How i longed for the overflow room to be used for overlfow!!!

so, put them in a restricted space. DRM them to hell. if i paid, let me at least hear them.

    Please.

Great conference. I just wish i could have heard and seen what i wanted to hear and see.

since i couldn’t (and since i paid) then PLEASE let me hear.

I can’t wait to see you next year at the red bull house.

  4. I’d be willing to pay for podcasts. If you would post them all (please PLEASE) and charge a SMALL fee (discount for badge holders?) people would download. I would love to have audio (or video) of past years as well.

  5. Yes, what locosassypants said. I second.

  6. I went to the podcast section today to recap on the things missed and was a little surprised to see a few.
I expected to see all of them. At every talk, it was mentioned that they were being recorded for podcast.
They exist… It would be nice to have them available to attendees for free (locoassypants) and charge small fee for non-attendees.
If I may add one not include:
    Traditional Design and New Technology
These folks completely missed the mark. It was dribble. Nothing of value was added to such a interesting topic. My favorite panel was: How to Make the Most of Maps
Very interesting use of content and how it can be used in a very interactive and positive way.

  7. I’d like to hear the “Consumer is Producer” podcast.

  8. Downloaded the “Podcasting 2.0″ podcast. Frustrated. Felt like I was listening to a one-sided phone conversation. Audio quality was ok–I just couldn’t hear the questions asked by those in the audience. It may be best to strongly recommend audience members to use a microphone as well if future podcasts are in the plan.

  9. Post them all. The ones currently posted are not the best. This podcast is also marketing, and will influence the image of SxSW interactive.

  10. When will the panel feedback averages be posted? I would be most interested in having the podcast schedule be determined by the attending audiences’ feedback.

  11. non of the podcasts are available, I am getting 404 for all including going thru itunes!
