Getting an Acting Mentor

Back in days of yore, when the average person didn’t get a formal education, the mentor/apprentice system took a spot as the weapon of choice for the everyday Joe (or Joseph in those days, right?) who wanted to follow a specific profession. Though it may seem outdated, the idea of getting a seasoned veteran as a mentor is actually still around and quite the popular option for people looking to get a job in acting.
A mentor not only provides years of experience in their field, they give the aspiring thespian the opportunity to get real, “hands on” experience. They are automatically plugged in to a network in a field where it’s all about who you know. Plus, mentors are more affordable than most people would think.
