Gingerbread Patriots

Gingerbread Patriots are Megan McGaughy, Nate Santamaria and brothers John and Jeshua Brophy. Based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, they have been playing shows together for about three years. They recently celebrated their second release titled Wax Lips and Hummingbirds. Drawing influences from artists such as Pavement, Slowdive and Elliot Smith, they have been compared to Architecture in Helsinki, Earlimart and even Grandaddy. Their music is just this, a cake made of pure melodic indie pop slathered with ambient icing and topped off with little electronic sprinkles. The sweet male/female harmonies make for an added scoop of ice cream that really seals the deal.
