With a sound like Judy Garland fronting Sonic Youth, Blondie hanging with The Pixies and Cyndi Lauper dancing with Nirvana, Australian trio The Grates were the surprise act of SXSW last year, being touted as ones to watch by media across the globe. Since then they have toured internationally three times and recorded their debut album. With box-fresh tracks for SXSW 2006, Patience, John and Alana are taking their happy blend of pop and rock full of careless abandon to the world.
