This young Atlanta-based blues guitar great was a WC Handy award nominee when still in his teens, and a sideman for blues artist, Susan Tedeschi, at 18. Sean has shared the stage with such blues greats as Hubert Sumlin and Bo Diddley, and drawn comparisons to BB King and Eric Clapton. Heralded for several years as the new lion of blues guitar, the now 25-year old Costello’s first release for Tone-Cool Records is a collection of classic blues and soul. Not surprising, some of the folks who influenced his guitar playing also have influenced his singing: Otis Rush, Johnny Watson, Bobby Womack, and Johnny Taylor. His music conveys the emotion of soul, gospel, and blues. It all comes from an authentic American music place, freshly offered by Sean Costello with passionate vocals and vibrant instrumental performances.
