Birthed in Lawrence, Kansas in 2001, Ad Astra Per Aspera is made up of 5 people playing predetermined rhythmic and (non)melodic parts dependent largely upon the name of the song. Their debut EP, "An Introduction To" was released in April 2003 and their follow up EP, "Cubic Zirconia" was released in May 2004. Much touring of sporadic proportions ensued. Ad Astra Per Aspera are now hard at work on their debut full-length. Ad Astra Per Aspera has been described by some as "the greatest, ever" and by others as "almost the greatest, ever". They are currently "making a name for themselves" and look forward to a Fleetwood Mac-esque meltdown in five to eight years.
