Stars of Track and Field

Though employing machines to relay bass notes, drum sounds and samples, Portland Oregon's Stars of Track and Field organically construct a hypnotic mix of anthemic guitar rock over icy digital precision. Their self-released debut EP "You Came Here for Sunset Last Year" was produced by Tony Lash (The Dandy Warhols, Elliott Smith) and Jeff Saltzman (Stephen Malkmus, Sunset Valley) and has sold over 4000 copies in the Pacific NW, largely buoyed by airplay on Portland's KNRK and Seattle's KNND. Their upcoming full-length "Centuries Before Love and War" was also produced by the Lash and Saltzman tandem and is due out on Sidecho Records in June 2006.
