Ron Franklin plays songs he made up but also songs he stole. Frequently he steals songs from peoples elderly or deceased. He has a guitar, a wooden one, named Maggie. Ron Franklin and Maggie can be heard the recent release Ballads, Songs, and Snatches.

Ron Franklin has also recorded with the Natural Kicks, the Entertainers, South Filthy, and Mouserocket. Before that, he played in lounges and grandma's fish fries.
