Aloha is a union of four
friends and collaborators who live hundreds of miles away from one another, yet spend most of their time
writing, playing, and talking about music together. We think you'll be pleased, it's their favorite yet.
This collection of songs is the harvest of a series of meetings across the past year and a half: In an empty
house in the mountains of central Pennsylvania. In a rehearsal space a slingshot rock away from the
Capitol building. In the live room at Inner Ear studios when the world was asleep. In the noisiest and
warmest practice room in upstate New York. In attics and basements, and across FTP servers and postal
mail. With expensive borrowed vintage equipment and with thrift store Casios. With out-of-body
abandon and with absolute precision.
Aloha loves a little bit of everything (60s orchestral pop, prog rock, 20th century composers, iconic
songwriters), but they don't dabble here and there, they meld it all to make their own noise, a singular and
unmistakable one. Lifetimes of sound distilled into 3-6 minute bursts. Memories refracted through the
lens of music, elusive moments preserved in song. A conversation of four people echoing across the
miles..... The music will say it better than we can.
