IB3
Music World and hip-hop. Ok, don't look so confused. You HAVE to know that to stray from its highly successful formula of girl groups (both R&B and gospel); the artist has to be absolutely phenomenal. Well ladies & gents, meet IB3. When the 19 year-old Houston native was asked to describe herself she responded: "Stop what you're doing cause you are viewing the latest influence comin' from Houston on this Hip-hop music/ this is the new—that's close to startin' a movement/ so if you do it do it right or keep on movin'/ u dudes been chasin' your dreams, for so many years, singin' your shoulda coulda wouldas, but the truth is here/ yall living a lie.../ I'm in your thoughts/ give me 10 more bars, and I'll be in your hearts/ started off in Houston, moved to Manhattan/ at the time I was done with all of the bad actin'/ I had my mind right, prepared for the lime light/ rhymes so nice I shoulda been signed twice/ they said middle class kids, don't succeed as emcees/ cause her friends got benz's, jags, mansions and bentley's/ you should be proud, you dealing with the young Oprah Winfrey/ I'm here, and you will never forget me." All you need to do is listen. She's hip-hop at it's truest... making you reminisce of breakin' in the park on old cardboard boxes to Doug E. Fresh, mixed with the angst of the Chuck D. & Public Enemy takeover, sliced with Beastie Boys energy, plus the humor of her personality which is uniquely IB3. Nuff said?
