www.catchdubs.com
Nick Catchdubs (who’s driver’s license actually reads Nick Barat) specializes in fun, forward-thinking DJ sets: hip-hop, dancehall, electro, rock, original remixes, and more. For the last two years, Nick has been tearing up parties in NYC and across North America, from Milk (San Francisco) to Spiderpussy (Miami) to the Social (Toronto). Along with solo gigs, Nick has DJed back to back with Diplo of Hollertronix and Kanye West DJ/World DMC Champion A-Trak, and opened for MIA, Lady Sovereign and Kano at their US debuts. He’s been a featured guest at The Rub in Brooklyn ( “Best Party To Dance Sweatily To Smart Music” – Village Voice), played premiere parties at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, and spun at art gallery openings for the Wooster Collective and more. Two acclaimed mix CDs, What’s Really and Oh Snap! (“Five Stars” – Vapors Magazine) are out now, along with tracks on The Rub’s It’s The Motherfucking Remix (“Motherfucking brilliant” – Pitchforkmedia.com). Original production and remix projects are in the works for 2006, as well as a joint mixtape with Mark Ronson and a double disc mix for the Superfriends party in SF with DJ Vin Sol.
